Little town of peace

I leave my little turquoise house on the top of a hill and step outside. The peace and summery weather overwhelm me. I'm in love with this town. I've been here for a month and I already feel at home.

It's December in Carmelo, Uruguay. The weather is different from what I'm used to, it's reversed. The balmy sun warms my body as I lay on a soft towel in the beach. People are wakeboarding in the river, drinking mate, listening to cumbia. There are happy people all around.

While Lahore will always have a part of me I have fell in love with this town, the people and its tradition. It has been easy to make friends since everyone knows everyone. A couple blocks from where I live there is a town center with a port, restaurant and bakery where they serve the best yogurt and pastries. It has been my favorite spot yet. I love not knowing what comes next especially in this little town that has incredible sights and traditions.

  2. Your description of this town was superb. I can almost see exactly what you are seeing. You used senses and literary techniques to create a picture in my head. I would add some quotes or anecdotes from the people in the town, but all in all good job.

  3. There was a good use of imagery and detail. I really liked how you added Lahore into your blog and how you recreated the author's tone and language. I like your piece, good job :)
